6th grade choir

  • 6th grade beginning choir, boys and girls

  • Focus on the foundations of music theory, sight singing, ear training, and singing in a choir

  • Multiple performances throughout the year, including community events.

  • Required to participate in 6th Grade Festival Auditions

  • Before & after-school rehearsals on an as-needed basis (and with plenty of notice)

Mixed choir

  • 7th & 8th grade boys and girls

  • Curriculum in choral technique, repertoire, theory, sight singing and ear training

  • Many scheduled performances and contests throughout the year including - Fall, Region, Winter, Black History Month, Pre-UIL, UIL, Spring Show, and various community performances.

  • Before & after-school rehearsals scheduled on an as-needed basis (and with plenty of notice)

 

advanced men's choir

  • Select 7th & 8th grade boys

  • Students are placed into the ensemble by the director and must exhibit a high level of work ethic, integrity, and musical skill. Singers may lose their spot in the event of a referral, suspension, ISS, etc.

  • Curriculum in choral technique, repertoire, theory, sight singing and ear training.

  • Many scheduled performances and contests throughout the year including - Fall, Region, Winter, Black History Month, Pre-UIL, UIL, Spring Show, and various community performances.

  • Required to participate in UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest, and the following TMEA sponsored activities:

      • Region Choir - Fall semester

      • Solo & Ensemble - Spring semester

  • Before & after-school rehearsals on an as-needed basis (and with plenty of notice)

advanced women's choir

  • Select 7th & 8th grade girls
